After staying in several units at Laketown Wharf over the years, including higher-floor units, I can confidently say that Unit 501 offers some unique advantages that are hard to appreciate until you experience them yourself. The standout feature is the wraparound corner balcony. Unlike most units, you can access it directly from the master bedroom, living room, kitchen, and even one of the guest bedrooms. There is plenty of space to enjoy your morning coffee, relax in the sun, or have dinner while taking in the Gulf views and coastal breeze. What surprised us most was how convenient the 5th floor location is. While many guests focus on getting the highest floor possible, the reality is that elevator wait times at Laketown Wharf can become frustrating during peak season. From the 5th floor, you're close enough to avoid that hassle while still enjoying beautiful views. Even better, the unit has convenient access from the South Tower parking garage, making loading luggage, groceries, beach gear, strollers, and wagons significantly easier. Being a corner unit also provides a level of privacy that is difficult to find elsewhere in the building. There is very little foot traffic near the windows and balcony, creating a much more peaceful experience. Families will especially appreciate the location overlooking the kids' pool on the 4th floor. You are also just steps away from the fitness center. Another feature we discovered is that you don't necessarily need to use the resort's private beach access next to Pineapple Willy's. Beach Access 34 is located directly across the street and offers a less crowded beach experience with a convenient, step-free pathway—perfect for families carrying coolers, beach chairs, strollers, or wagons. Finally, the spacious layout makes it easy to accommodate larger groups. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a separate bunk area, there is plenty of room for families and friends to spread out comfortably. If you're looking for a unit that combines convenience, privacy, family-friendly features, and one of the most unique balconies in the resort, Unit 501 is an excellent choice.
